Brian Krawczyk :: Names of God:Emmanuel :: 12.19.10

Psalm 62:11-12 “One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are stong, and that you, O Lord, are love. Surely you will reward each person according to what he has done.”

It is one thing to know God as powerful Creator, infinite, all knowing, pre-existent One. How much greater the joy of knowing Him as intimate Husband, love of my soul, sacred Friend. Work is the result of one ruling or directing another, fruit is only the result of a union between two. For this reason, God made himself known in the person of Jesus. He wants to be around us, he wants to be intimately involved with us — He wants to be as near to us as we’ll let Him get. And so, on that Christmas morning 2000 years ago Yahweh became Emmanuel, “God with us.”
