About Grace Midtown

web_header-about4

We are a people longing to see the Kingdom of God come in the city of Atlanta through making disciples of Jesus.

At the core, we are a family of people committed to living out the movement God began with the early church, who, “day by day continuing with one mind in the Temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2

Empowered by the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised, we will live to bring His Kingdom in this city and the cities of the world.  We meet together on Sundays to explore the Bible, worship the Lord with music, and share in the lives of others. Join us!

As we explore the potential of purchasing a larger facility to accommodate our growth, here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers.

1. Q: What is Grace Snellville’s relationship to Grace Midtown?
Grace Snellville undertook the establishment of Grace Midtown to bring the Kingdom of God to the city of Atlanta. Their investment of personnel, funds and spiritual supervision has led to this successful church plant within the city.

2. Q: Who are the elders? What is their responsibility?
The Grace Snellville elders continue to provide governing oversight and the Grace Midtown staff provides the spiritual leadership.

3. Q: What does it mean to be a member of Grace Midtown?
if you are a member of Grace Midtown you have officially joined the movement to bring the Kingdom to Atlanta by committing to this local body of believers. Your unique gifts, talents, and genuine love for God and people should now be fueling the mission of your church. Only members will vote on budgetary and expansion matters that affect how we use the resources God has entrusted to our body of believers.

4. Q: What does it mean to vote as a member of Grace Midtown?
The elders are directed by a Grace Snellville constitution that was established and approved by their membership. This constitution provides that members vote to approve certain actions of the Board of elders, such items as the annual budget and acquiring or sale of property. When these issues concern Grace Midtown, the church body is asked to vote on them.

5. Q: If I vote ‘Yes’ what is my responsibility?
In voting “yes” you are committing to support your vote with prayer, action, and giving. We come together in the unity of God’s Spirit to seize the opportunities He is laying before us.

6. Q: What if I don’t agree with the measure, can I vote ‘No’?
A matter submitted to the congregation by the leadership is for the purpose of affirming the leading of the Spirit of God. Any member who feels led to vote against a measure is encouraged to do so. The major issue is to have the mind of the Spirit.

7. Q: What is the process for getting more information before I vote?
Grace Midtown is strongly committed to operating with transparency and ensuring that the membership has sufficient information needed to make an informed, Spirit-led decision. The leadership provides informational meetings prior to votes. Elders and members of the pastoral staff are available for individual questions.

8. Q: Who ensures the money I give to Midtown is used the right way?
Financial accountability is an important part of the stewardship to which we are all called. An annual budget is established and approved by the congregation. All funds received at Grace Midtown are used for the Midtown ministry. Financial statements are reviewed monthly by the Board, as well as annually by an outside accounting firm.
